Late Spring News from La Luna Farm

Spring and now summer has arrived on the farm with lots exciting news. The warm weather has brought changes and additions to La Luna Farm.

We want to welcome our new boarders, Ashton Bottini, Kelsey Thietje, Carol O'Bryne and Deborah Pellegrini. It is great to have them at the barn and part of our community.

During the first week of May we went to Garden State Horse Show in Sussex, NJ. We had a great show. Ashton, riding Jollywood, received the reserve champion in the Pre-Children Equitation Pony division. Congratulations Ashton! Kelsey qualified in the top 20 with her horse, Spoken 4, for the Jack Fritz Challenge which was supposed to be ridden on Sunday in the Grand Prix ring. Mother nature took control and the horse show was forced to shut down on Saturday afternoon due to unusually high winds and did not reopen on Sunday. Kelsey also finished in fourth place in the Mini-Medal Equitation division. We were all disappointed about not being able to show on Sunday but the horse show did a great job keeping everyone safe and making sure no one got hurt. Thanks Garden State! And thanks to all our boarders for their help packing up!!

Next week, we are off to Saugerties for three weeks of competition at HITS on the Hudson. We are stabled at tent one so stop by and say hello if you are at the show. We will keep you posted of our results when we get back.
